masters

So I decided yesterday that I don’t want to go to GVSU because I am not ready to get my masters in special ed administration, and that’s pretty much the only option I had.

I did more research and have come up with 5 options:

1) Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University. I could take electives in special education and focus my research projects around special education leaving me with my masters completed in 36 credits.

2) Masters of Special Education with a concentration in Austism Spectrum Disorder from Oakland University . While this is something I am very interested in, I’m not sure how much it will help me in my current job. I am getting a lot of the autism kids… and my practicum and final project could focus on early childhood autism… Completed in 56 credits.

3) Masters of Special Education: The Master Teacher from CMU. The core classes seem pretty standard and I have 15 hours of electives (approved by an advisor). I think I need more information on this one… Completed in 33 credits.

4) Masters of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. I am working with a lot of families and thought this might encompass that component of my work without trying to go for a degree in social work. Not too sure about what the courses entail so I’ll have to talk to an advisor. Completed in 36 credits.

5) Endorsement in Infant Mental Health. I have no idea what this entails but from what I have gathered, it will help me immensely to understand the medical conditions my kids are facing. I’ve emailed someone about it because I have absolutely no idea what the program entails. From what I would expect it would be around 18 credits?

So now… what do I do?
